Matt Kay

Born in the historic city of Vienna, Matt majored in International Business and Economics and has been playing the violin for over 20 years. He started traveling at an early age; first with his family and then touring Europe with an orchestra.

After making a career change to aviation, he’s been working for several major airlines and moving from cities on one continent to the other. Having lived in Abu Dhabi, Frankfurt, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale and New York City, he currently resides in Berlin.

Matt keeps a busy schedule flying for work, traveling to LGBT events and extraordinary destinations globally. With an impressive 109 countries visited so far, he has lots of first-hand experience and recommendations to share — especially when it comes to destinations a little bit off the beaten path. Some of his most adventurous trips took him to remote places such as Hanga Roa, Kathmandou, Erbil, Tehran, Malabo and Khartoum, to name a few. He also holds a personal record of crossing the Atlantic three times within 30 hours.
