ibiza

Our friends at Two Bad Tourists have big news on the first-ever Ibiza Pride and a huge summer giveaway!

Are you planning on visiting Ibiza? In case you haven’t heard, Ibiza is hosting its first gay pride this summer from July 8th to 12th and it’s going to be big! We’ve partnered with the Ibiza Gay Pride team to giveaway 2 All Access Passes.

The winner of the giveaway will receive 2 free t-shirts, 2 welcome bags and 2 wristbands providing free access to all 8 parties including the opening party, all nighttime events and daytime pool party. Each pass normally costs 200€ (promo price until May 25th) so the total prize is valued at 400€! You can find out more about the events and parties on the Ibiza Gay Pride website or check out their Facebook page for regularly updates.

What’s the Catch?

There’s no catch – all you have to do is signup with your email address. We’ll add you to our mailing list and you can unsubscribe at anytime. We don’t spam but we do send out a monthly newsletter and occasional new blogs posts by email. This giveaway also helps promote Ibiza Gay Pride, which is important since it’s the first year and they need help spreading the word. Also note that the prize doesn’t include any travel assistance, flights or accommodation so you’re on own for that. But once you arrive, you’ll have access to all the events throughout the week with the wristband.

amsterdamOur correspondent Louis Boshoff sent us this colorful photo of Conchita Wurst at the very recent Amsterdam Pride!

Conchita Wurst, the winner of Eurovision 2014 and neo-ambassador for gay rights, has helped Amsterdam solidify its position as one of the leading European hosts of Gay Pride. It remains one of the continent’s most unique pride events and has become an event that is embraced by the entire city. From elderly couples to the young and restless take time out in a celebration of tolerance and acceptance. If you’re doing some advanced travel planning be sure to keep Amsterdam Gay Pride in mind; it is extremely well organized with next year’s party agenda already out featuring circuit parties and themed events planned at the participating venues.

curacaoNot everywhere in the Caribbean is gay-friendly (we’re looking at you, Jamaica!) but Dutch-owned Curacao is among the gayest of all the islands, and next month they celebrate their 2nd annual Gay Pride. From September 24-28, the small island of charming European architecture, cute boys, and 35 beaches, celebrates the LGBT lifestyle in the region. Go for the fun, the UNESCO World heritage Sites, the boys and the colors and the turquoise water. This is one of the most unique and lively prides in the world.

The charming, adults-only Floris Suite Hotel is the host hotel for Curaçao Pride and centrally located to all the events.

montrealprideWe love Montreal (and our Editor-in-Chief Ed Salvato just returned!). It’s the most European of all North American cities, the gay centerpiece of Canada, and a personal favorite of ours. In a few days, on August 11, gay pride kicks off featuring more than 80 events and parties. The events concludes on the 18th with one of the world’s best pride parades.

Visitors can expect sightings of the two international Grand Marshals, LGBT human rights activist Peter Tatchell, and Boban Stojanović, LGBT activist from Serbia and organizer of Belgrade Pride. Four hot “out” Olympic athletes from Sochi will also make guest appearances.
Montreal is a city of hidden treasures and secrets, and you can read all of our extensive coverage in our April 2013 issue by subscribing here!

St. Pete Pride is going nighty night!

No, it’s not going to sleep; quite the opposite, actually. Instead, the city is embracing its young, hip gay ways and will become only the fifth pride event in the country to take place at night. And for anyone who knows the intensity of the mid-summer Florida sun, that means one very important thing: no more melting drag makeup!

It also means a raucous, fun parade, tons of parties, and a new, sexy, fun vibe to the parade. St. Pete Pride is a three-day art, music, and performance event culminating in the LGBT parade with some of America’s biggest brands representing. The event draws more than 100,000 gays from around the country. This year will also include the opening of the city’s first LGBT Welcome Center.

In our May issue, we covered pride events from all over the world including New York, San Francisco, Madrid, Tel Aviv, and Taipei. Click here to subscribe and get access to all of our insider pride coverage!
