Dane always had a spark for commercial aviation and travel. By the time Dane was 12 years old, he was assisting in the travel planning and coordination for his father’s international fine jewelry company. At 15, he arranged his family to vacation in Italy.

Dane was hungry for more. With the addition of learning French, Spanish, and Hebrew, Dane also studied international business and communication. While at New York University, Dane landed a marketing internship at Alitalia Airline’s New York headquarters. From there, he was selected from thousands of applicants as one of jetBlue’s summer marketing interns. On the day of graduation, Alitalia offered him a marketing position in which for the next 2 years, Dane brought innovation and spice to Alitalia’s U.S. marketing initiatives.

While at Alitalia, Dane gained a wealth of knowledge about the travel industry. He was responsible for advertising and promotions, as well as entertaining and facilitating groups of travel agents and clients on 5-day jaunts to Italy. Through his experience and travel education, Dane realized that there was an undiscovered niche in the market: luxury LGBT travel and tour operations.

In 2007, Dane launched Steele Luxury Travel, providing the LGBT community with exclusive and unique travel experiences to exotic destinations worldwide. In addition to operating his tour programs, Steele provides corporate, personal and incentive travel planning for numerous corporations and individuals. As Dane lives and breathes his entrepreneurial career,  his goal for the LGBT community is to enjoy the world they live in every way possible.
